Sitting above the sand, this house maintains it sense of privacy from beachgoers. The ocean light is balanced out by clerestory windows and a courtyard, which brings light in from multiple directions. The glass rails, the floating stair, and the skylit two-story hallway helped to create a sense of openness. The Italian doors and windows add strength and design by allowing for large operable glass and superb function in the face of the harsh ocean environment. Large porcelain panel cladding  brings continuity with the interior and exterior.
