Inspired by the Mexican Landscape Architect, Luis Barragan, this house is about walls, redefining the interior and exterior. The original house was split in two, with one side higher, addressing the lap pool, and the other lower side, the rolling backyard. By creating a one-level great room that spanned both sides of the house, we balanced the light and the experience of the site and its two very different views. Colored stucco walls, remodeled lap pool and exterior courtyard, slate floors with radiant heat, tall ceilings.....an amazing entertaining house.
